The following sugggested training program begins 8 weeks prior to the ride and was developed by Stephanie Wilkins for the Ride of Love. Each cyclists will recieve a copy of amendments for 2012 from this year's Cyclist leader, Courtney Crowder. Prior to the training program a regular fitness program is a must to stay in good shape.

8 Weeks Prior: 125-140 M
7 Weeks Prior: 160-170 M
6 Weeks Prior: 135-150 M
5 Weeks Prior: 170-185 M
4 Weeks Prior: 135-150 M
3 Weeks Prior: 185-195 M
2 Weeks Prior: 135-150 M
1 Week Prior: 95-115 M
Cyclists may wish to plan one longer ride during mid-week (~30-50 miles) and save longer rides for the weekends. The remaining days ride between 15-25 miles and train a minimum of 5 days/week. Some group rides will be scheduled for the longer rides. Once a cyclist signs up for the ROL that information will be sent to you by mail or via email along with a detailed training program.
Training for the Ride of Love is a commitment in and of itself but to be able to do this ride it is a MUST! Train on varying terrain (more hills than flat) and ride with others, both of these things will help you get better prepared for the ROL.
