"Ride of Love - Thank You"

This ride would not be possible nor as successful if it wasn’t for the kindness and generosity shown by our supporters!!  THANK YOU for helping to give the kids smiles a mile!

Since the beginning of the bike ride in 2001, the Tuscaloosa County Sheriffs Department has provided The Ride of Love with an escort the entire way.  The Ride of Love is escorted by two motorcycles from the Sheriff’s department, and a vehicle in the rear of the motorcade.  Deputies assisting him include:  Jason Powell (2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), Lance Willis (2004), Billy Crowell(2004, 2005, 2006, 2007), Pam Kirsch (2001, 2002), John Mills (2006, 2007) Quincy (2008)and Darren Evans-Young (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009).  This ride would not be possible without their help due to the route of the ride.

Alford Screen Printing.  Thanks Fred for always donating the screen for the jersey’s.  They look so powerful and absolutely stunning, especially when you have 42 cyclists wearing them.

Brian Wright, Videographer/DVD producer.  Brian you help tell our story—thanks for always capturing great footage to share.

Bryan Rashchilla, artist.  Thanks for your creative abilities.  The jersey’s, patches, t-shirts look absolutely wonderful.

David Crawford, at Maxx Mailing Service, has graciously mailed out all of the letters requesting support for Stephanie and David. This is a very generous donation to the ride due to the volume of mail that has to be delivered. David Crawford takes care of all of the small mailing details so that Stephanie and David do not have to worry about anything. Thank you David!

DCBC, Druid City Bicycle Club.  Thanks for the financial contribution and support of the Ride of Love.  Yall are my  fellow cyclists and I’m proud to be part of such a great group.

Fred Twilley, WalMart.  Thanks for sharing the story about Camp Smile-A-Mile to numerous WalMart stores raising close to $125,000 over the last few years towards our goal.  Fred has taken us over the top and into the 6 digit figures the last few years and has gotten numerous Wal Mart stores, managers and associates involved in the cause.

John Weathers, Albertville Cycling Group, for coordinating the group effort and providing Food/Support Truck fully loaded with staff, food, and beverage through the years.
North Star Ambulance follows behind to take care of any cyclists needing medical attention.  Thank you guys for being there to take such great care of us.
Sara French, IHOP.  For yall's financial support.  For allowing us to take over your parking lot, donating ice, and feeding the rol cyclists helping them to fuel up for the day.  Yalls continued support really throughout the year is much appreciated--this has become yall's cause.

Support Staff.  Many people help support this ride from helping to get food, lunch, drive sag vehicles, etc.  I can’t thank all of you folks enough.

UA Outdoor Recretion--for the last few years has provided us with a 15 passenger van and trailer for sag support.  I can't thank you guys enough.  A ride this size can't happen without support from folks like you all.

VeloCity Pro Cycle--Mark and Gina Simpson, and Eric White.  I don't know what we'd do without you guys supporting and providing mechanical support for the ROL cyclists.  In addition Gina you help me with the jersey's and your and Marks financial support is touching.  You guys have certainly championed Camp SAM as your cause.
And certainly last but not least, to our supporters behind the scenes who donate money and time to this very worthy cause. Your words of encouragement mean so much. Most contributions are from individuals and not corporations. When you realize this and see how much money is raised it is truly amazing that so many people contribute to giving these very special children smiles a mile wide.  Thanks to each and every one of you.
